A Lively Launch for New Standard Works

357hf 02bThe Banqueting Suite of the Council House was packed for the unveiling of the plans for the re-invention of the New Standard Works. The atmosphere was vibrant as students from their other Colleges showed off the skills they have developed and Founder and Executive Chair of the Ruskin Mill Trust, Aonghus Gordon, outlined the vision.

“Thank you to everyone who attended. We were delighted you were able to join us and look forward to staying in touch as we approach September when we will open our doors to our first students. Thank you also to Mark Rogers, Chief Executive of the City Council, who welcomed us to Birmingham.”

The re-invention of the iconic building on Vittoria Street in the Jewellery Quarter into the New Standard Works is well underway. As we transform the interior, creating facilities for our students, a public café and a space for arts and other community activities we are finding out about the building’s history.
